Fi @ UCSD is partnering with the City of San Diego's Performance and Analytics Department to perform a UX audit on the City's Get It Done platform. We are looking to mobilize a team by Tuesday 11/26 to start the groundwork on this project.
The team will review pain points in the usability and engagement of the platform, researching through user interviews and analyzing the metrics of the website and mobile app. The team will also use this data to create prototype solutions and present best practices for the P&A Department to consider for the future of the platform. There is also an opportunity to work directly with staff in the department to implement some of the proposed changes into the platform.
Timeline: ~10 weeks, deliverable package estimated due 2/7/2020
Available roles: We're looking to fill in 11 positions for UX consultants, and 2 positions for project managers.

1️⃣ UX Consultant
Our agency consultants are the reason why Fi is a model for experiential learning. Understanding different disciplines in a client project, collecting evidence and creating new ideas, and communicating changes to a client, are perfect ingredients to making you industry-ready for a career in design.

As a consultant, you will work with a team of 10 other consultants and at the discretion of the project managers on client deliverables.
Consultants work collaboratively to produce results and ideas that will build toward the final package and provide powerful insights to the P&A department.
Consultants have the opportunity to utilize techniques and practices in user research, interaction design, content strategy, and UX engineering.
Consultants also have the opportunity to present work they have completed at monthly milestone meetings with the client group at the San Diego City Hall.
🕘 Must be able to commit at least 10 hours per week, including team meetings, pair and individual work, and stakeholder workshops. Must also be willing to start on 12/2/2019 and commit through 2/7/2020, including academic breaks with option for remote work.
👷 Has the willingness to take on multiple roles in performing user research, prototyping design solutions, ideating new content, and working in development environments.
🧠 A plus if previous class experience at UC San Diego meets requirements for COGS, COMM, CSE, DSGN, PSYC, or VIS courses.

2️⃣ Project Manager
This is a star role for making sure our projects go smoothly. Project managers have a key responsibility in ensuring that milestone goals are met, that deliverables are of high quality, and that clients are kept up to date with progress. This isn't just a supervision role: project managers also serve as team players, and anticipates to fill in gaps where the team might fall short.
If you have a hunger for leadership and learning management, we'd be excited to have you join this team as a PM.
As a project manager, you will work with 1 other project manager and oversee a team of 11 consultants.
Project managers work with the team to brief on next steps toward deliverables, assign duties, and evaluate progress to ensure that deadlines will be met.
Project managers serve as consultants when there is a set of tasks to be met that cannot otherwise be completed by the consultant team.
Project managers report directly to the Agency Director to update on project progress and discuss new methods of reaching individual and team goals.
Project managers meet monthly with the client group at San Diego City Hall to update the group on milestone deliverables and gather feedback for next steps.
Project managers work with individual consultants to prepare documentation that will contribute toward the final deliverable package.
🕘 Must be able to commit at least 15 hours per week, including team meetings, pair and individual work, client meetings, director meetings, and stakeholder workshops. Must also be willing to start on 11/27/2019 and commit through 2/7/2020, including academic breaks with option for remote work.
💡 Has familiarity with user-centered design practices and software tools, specifically in user research, interaction design, and front-end development. Plus for familiarity or experience in project management methodology, including planning resources, time & risk management, and metric recording.
